Homemade 3D Printer at work printing a head.
HI, This is my homemade 3D printer at work. This is the head of Walt Disney. It was awesome… and freaky… to see the head being created by the printer. The material is ABS plastic and it took 2h45min to print. There are some imperfections but…hey..this device is a fraction of the cost of the ‘big’ machines. The design is based on the makerbot open source project. Kudos to the team!!! Let me know if you are interested and i will build you one
Thanks, Eddy

@jwt2005 That makes sense. I think on commercial printers they use two separate materials for the supports, and the printing software generates them around the model automatically. Then this second material is either one that can be dissolved, or doesnt stick, and can be snapped off.
At least thats how I remember the stratasys (sp?) printers working when I saw them. Wonder how hard it would be to make the software automatically produce the support structures to be printed.
was that head expensive? how much do printing materials cost btw?
@WACOMalt I think he could print a tower from the bottom up to the nose, then have it stop before printing the nose so you can put something on it to keep it from sticking to the tower.. then you wouldn’t have to cut the tower off. if that makes sense.
How do you sleep??
Can you make me a 3d printer?
printer service manuals: refillbros com manuals
How hard would it be for your software to create supports as well to prevent the sagging? Would you need two printing heads?
Im looking to build one of these
How is it possible to print the nose without anything underneath? Really perplexing!
@yougeo it is more accurate to move the workpeice as when you move the head you’re moving all the gumph that’s connected to it.
why move the material when you can just move the lighter print head?
Just wondering about the material you used. ABS Plastic. Does it has to be in a liquid state to be able to print objects?
Also, can you use other type of materials for printing? l would appreciate it if you could help me out
Walt Disney was a very white, crusty man.

THA SOUND xD
How much would you charge for such a thing?)
Pure Insanity at it’s finest
Wowo insane!
This isn’t so much a printer as it is a C&C machine in reverse. You are actually using what appears to be plastic or rubber. The Z Corp. 3D printer actually applies a colored liquid (the “ink”) to a basin of powder (the “paper”). With each pass and layer the liquid and powder meld into a solid. Your “3D printer” has been used at hundreds of companies and science institutions across the US already.
THIS IS FUCK UP!
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
I HEARD THAT YOU CAN PRINT A PRINTER! SO IT IS REALLY CHEAP! xd
@MikaShelley99 sex toy
