The cubes look like candies…
This was very cool to watch, especially since I did most of the exterior of that enterprise build.

We have one of these at my school.. only one as far as i know

thats fucking crazy
the minecraft enterprise was a 1:1 scale model WITH ALL THE ROOMS INSIDE! i could see all the tiny block edges on the finished companion cube model, so that printer is crazy accurate! that enterprise model may have all the rooms in it too!
A portal for Minecraft to get into the real world? Yea, nothing bad will come from that.

Is the part of the video at 1:58 in real time? If so, what kind of processor does that machine have and does it need to read EVERY region file? I’ve been trying to implement a .mcr library in Ruby 1.9 and it’s taking about 2-3 minutes to read each 1024 chunk region file – having to Deflate each chunk seems to be what’s eating most of my time.
This is awesome, BTW.
Cool
@TR1GG3RSERIOUS The code has been up for a while (on github), but I went ahead and linked it from the site, today. I will make a general warning: the current version that is up is not the most efficient that we have nor the most user friendly (you have to be able to set up a dependency and run the script from the terminal), but it’s been quite stable in tests.
are you guys going to make the files open to the public? I really want a companion cube but I’m not sure how to get the file for it so I can send it to company that will print it.
The vent on the printer thingie reminds me of the Aperture Science logo.
1 to 1 scale guys i think we are going to need a bigger printer
